Over 200 members of the various branches of the Pfingst family arrived at Goondiwindi for what must be the largest family reunion this town has seen in a long time.
The Museum hosted a Camp oven dinner for around 170 members of the Pfingst family with a traditional "Camp Oven Stew and Damper" being served, also provided was a "Camp Oven Curry" for those members of the family with stronger tastes.
The families started to arrive at the museum from 6pm onwards. This was the culmination of a weekend of different branches of the families getting to know each other and starting to discover pieces of the family history and meet relatives that a few months ago they may not have known existed.
This was a long day for our team as they started working on the meal from 7am with the lighting of the first fires and then worked through till 9pm to ensure that everything went well and everyone enjoyed their meal.
We look forward to meeting the Pfingst families again in 5 years when they are planning a second reunion.
